Thoughts #2

For the most part, I am trying to put everything together for the story. I've had a new idea! Rings are no longer simply counted, and then lost like material items. As in current Sonic games. Rings will be counted as ring points instead, as by following the theory of ring points being solidified energy. Total ring points determines total ring power (ring power=1 point). As long as the carrier has at least one ring point they cannot be directly harmed. To further define this phenomenon, once a ring is collected an invisible barrier encapsulates that person. When they are hit, a golden yellow glow appears in front of the character which repels the enemy and the player. Also, the total amount of damage done to the character will be subtracted from the amount of ring points as a damage compensation, destablilizing the barrier. Regardless of how many rings are collected, once the barrier has been destabilized the remaining ring points transverse back into individual destabilized rings (rings scatter), soon to be consumed by chaos(energy). however, one may still be able to recover lost rings before they dissipate - converting them back into ring points.

In conjunction with ring points and energy, there will be a health system totaling of 200 points. just as with ring points, these are equivalent to ring points except that they are not recoverable. health points can be restored by using the occasional edible item(fruits, chao healing, rest). if you're looking to rest during a run you might fail your mission. remember, speed is key.

ring power helps the player in many ways besides just being a protective barrier. by consuming points, it can allow you to perform various actions to help you escape death. some moves of index are; double jumping (the rings platform underneath your feet, allowing you to jump extremely far distances. an alternative theory; ring energy catapults you in the intended direction, made for such use as a homing attack or evading a misplaced jump off of a cliff or steep edge; can only be used once. 15 ring points), final escape (consumes all ring points to save your life, and temporarily slows down time to make your escape. n ring points), sonic dash (stamina) (consumes 5 ring points to send you hurling with speed in the intended direction.), stamina (similar to above, instead 5 ring points are used for any specific action as there are many other types of characters. like knuckles doing a powerful high jump and glide. or tails doing a swift razor spin. even jet with enhanced flight abilities. idk, there's just too many possible moves to list!).

Thoughts

This is Chaos X Force.

Hopefully this will clarify (to the extent of my knowledge) Chaos Emeralds and Chaos energy, Rings and Ring energy, Zones, Time Stones and Time Posts, and the role of the Master Emeralds. What this is constitutes the X-Force, developed by Ivo Robotnik and legendary researchers. The X-Force is still undefined, but for those who may use it have the ability to alter time, space and local reality.

Chaos - Violent and disruptive, unpredictable, factoring and multiplying, self-sustaining energy. Discharged by Chaos Emeralds. Only when in a state of harmonics can the energy be used for anything useful, as it's destructive nature destroys all that encompasses it.

Chaos Emeralds -

Rings - Solidified energy contained inside a shell of Gold material.

Ring Energy - Ring energy is the essence of calm. It in absolution is the negative of Chaos energy. One of the more distinct traits of Ring energy is its profound ability to synthesize other materials and states. As a matter of fact, the more disruptive a material the more effective Ring energy harmonizes.

Zones - Also called "Chaos Zones". These Zones are the result of linking Chaos energy with Ring energy. Within these zones, Chaos energy is nullified and Chaos emeralds can safely be discovered and obtained. The nullified energy remains so only for as long as there is Ring energy. Chaos energy depletes this, and once the resource is compensated the Zone closes. Or if there is a major distortion (e.g. Chaos energy released). Physical property of Zones - The Zones exist in space without time.

Time Stones - Once obtained, it allows anyone to control time. Time is non-elemental. These stones can't be found in common reality. but by utilizing the energy of Chaos in static space, it will create a tremendous distortion in not only space but time itself as well, which will enable you to find them. this technique was used to find Little Planet, which exists outside of time and space. Robotnik concentrated chaos energy into a coordinated area until it developed into a hypothetical time portal. noting the instability of the vortex created, he anchored the planet inside reality by linking it to physical material. Physical property of Time Stones - The Time Stones exist outside of space and time, and are composed of dark matter.

Time Post - ?? it's less the title i want to give it, so imagine it as a permission key to travel given exerted energy. this energy isn't physical, but more of an inner channeling of it. and when these channels open, synthesis between body and space become one, allowing one to travel through time in "one" direction as a living bolt of energy. (*whew* i finally illustrated this idea via words!)

Master Emeralds - These magnificent crystals are forged as the exact coefficient of Chaos emeralds. The inverse of Chaos. The reason these crystals are revered sacred by the Ancient Guardians is because they never emit a charge. They have the profound nature to cure destruction. Instead they absorb whatever Chaos that has been released. A more vivid description would be, Chaos energy does not disperse the same way as sound or light and, if left unattended, will travel the universe wreaking destruction on whatever crosses it's path. Yes, Chaos energy can travel through planets; and woe the inhabitants of it. However these emeralds can effectively cancel all Chaos around it. In the Egg Walker II (S3K) Robotnik used the Master emerald to collect Chaos energy, then fire it at Sonic. You can see the sheer destructive force of unattended Chaos, and it's vast amounts in space. Which is, in particular, why Robotnik insists on building his fortresses on the outer limits of the atmosphere.

Team Chaos Force

In seven is one, and in one is master...

This is what unifies Chaos... at least that's what the legend says. Not to worry though, those who make up the chaos force understand all too well what can save their planet. They are skilled individuals, survivors of The Conflict.

There was once a time where the Great Machine was resurrected a bit all too sudden, where one hero was a bit too late to stop anything, and a complete demolition of the planet below ensued... in the blink of an eye. This hero encountered the culprit, and so did advance to stop him once and for all; but for this first time, he was unable to.

More in a bit...

Brainstorm #1

I'm more than sure I'm not the only one who's sick of Sonic Team (ST) running the Sonic show. Basically a bunch of old Sega producers with old washed up ideas and running off of old, 1980's run-of-the-mill cliches. I feel its the Moderator who holds this key to a great Sonic game, and that Moderator is Us! Perhaps in past recent events, we've made our own custom sonic-like characters. Maybe even, we've written our own fanfiction. But yet have we to create that which the Sonic genre has platformed - a game.

And currently i have a game-idea brewing in my mind.

At first i was speculating how to make a really good single player adventure game for Sonic; that idea still rests. Then I began to think about an online multiplayer experience, a TC mod for half-life 2; well someone thought of that before i did, and I'm helping the project along too! Then I begin to think of Sonic not-as-usual, but in a more extreme way. Looking at the simple elements of which make up Sonic; Why is Sonic fast? What does he need speed for? Why does he need to think and act fast? What's the rush? - is basically what i ask myself. Then I see these awesome games like Zone Of The Ender, MGS, Virtual ON, you know - those non-babified games that our parents used to hassle us about? Well what's great about these games is the ample use of speed, reflex, and pure wit.
What if we put all these elements into a game and created an experience unlike any other?
That plan is what this brainstorm should help accomplish.

ok, im going to ignore grammar for this part. it's where my brain gets deep-fried.

so we have a platform. lets call this engine blue ball and floor, because that's all there is in the game. i know, it's not much, but we develop on this. plus, using a ball is more practical, because the player doesn't spend much of the game standing vertically. instead, it's more of the opposite; bouncing off of walls and such.
